This Winter

Updated: Feb 24

Hello everyone, and welcome to my story. Over the winter there were a number of different things that I began to do with Lydia Halbert Handcrafted (LHH). Today I would like to talk about one of the most exciting things I have done this winter. The mysterious lady. She is who I am essentially and what I am trying to convey as an artist. She is the metalsmith, the jeweler, the maker, and more importantly the fighter that is within me. I have been trying to create a movement with LHH through not just a logo but with an insignia that I most identify with. My vision is to hopefully be recognized via the mysterious lady in the coming years. Ultimately, she is the one that is doing all of the work and not me.

Aside from her (the mysterious lady) this winter I have made a very special commission that I am extremely proud of because it is one of my original designs from years before. It is a commission that I made for a special person who goes by the name of Merle Weisman, who is also wonderful artist herself. This was an all sterling silver piece that signifies her culture and more importantly the meaning of life. The symbol is a Hebrew Chai. Below is a photo of Merle wearing her Chai.

This is another photo of me with Merle holding our wood carved commission jewelry box together that come with each commission.

Thank you for taking that time to read my update and first of many blog posts for LHH this year and I hope to keep you informed monthly throughout the year as the show season begins to develop. I will post another blog post in the coming weeks of what is next to come for LHH. Again thank you for taking the time to read my story.
